Discovery Day

Coming in on a Wing and a Prayer

The Future Meets the Past Through Games and Activities

April 24, 2020 6-8 p.m.

Discovery Day is an opportunity for children and youth to enjoy learning about experiences their ancestors might have had. Games and activities teach about history and bring knowledge to the younger generation. We Hope these activities open up opportunities for children and youth to ask questions, seek out photographs, and talk to family members about their experiences.

This year we will be focusing on World War II and the Depression. There will be hands on activities to participate in, games to learn and play, and puppet show to watch.

*Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Puppet Show

This ancient art form, called Puppetry, is a well-known form of entertainment throughout the world. Puppeteers give voices and manipulate inanimate objects to tell stories. The puppets vary in complexity from finger puppets to sock puppets to Marionettes (puppets controlled by strings). No matter the type of puppet, puppet shows entertain people by telling stories.
